Genomics and Omics Innovation – Shaping the Future of Health and Science

The event features three distinguished experts at the forefront of their fields:

🧬 Dr. Eric Green – Director, National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI)
Eric D. Green is a prominent American genomics researcher renowned for his significant contributions to the Human Genome Project, which aimed to map and understand all the genes of the human genome. He has been the Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 2009.

🌍 Dr. Bettina Lundgren – CEO, Danish National Genome Center
As the CEO of the Danish National Genome Center, Dr. Lundgren leads efforts to integrate genomic information into national healthcare systems. Her work emphasizes using genomics to improve patient outcomes, optimize medical practices, and foster forward-thinking innovation in medical science.

🔬 Dr. Marta Guasch-Ferré – Associate Professor, University of Copenhagen
Dr. Guasch-Ferré is an expert in applying genomics and other omics technologies to understand the interplay between health, lifestyle, and chronic metabolic diseases (CMD). Her research on multi-omics integration identifies novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets, advancing precision health strategies to tackle complex global health challenges.

    FAQ

    What is Science Cluster Lectures?

The Science Cluster Lectures is a series of open lectures for all researchers and others interested in bioscience, biotechnology and health. Every 4 weeks, on Thursday evenings, you are invited for lectures on themes with a general interest for the Novo Nordisk Foundation Research Centers and bioscience researchers in general. Often there will be a cross-disciplinary focus.

Will it be possible to attend physically and virtually?

This will be a hybrid lecture with the possibility of attending both virtually and physically. Please note that we have a limited capacity for how many we allow to participate physically, and seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
