Copenhagen Bioscience Lecture
The Copenhagen Bioscience Lectures are a series of open lectures for all researchers and other interested in and around the Copenhagen area. Every 4 weeks, on a Thursday evening, you are invited for lectures on themes with a general interest for the Novo Nordisk Foundation Research Centers and bioscience researchers in general. Often there will be a cross-disciplinary focus. The lecture on 8 February 2018 features the Milner Therapeutics Institute, a dynamic partnership between pharmaceutical companies and academics at the University of Cambridge and associated Institutes. The Milner Therapeutics Institute is a fully integrated Institute of the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge, UK. It delivers its mission by connecting academic institutions with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, by enabling collaborative research projects throughout Cambridge, and by accelerating the formation of new biotech companies with a therapeutic outlook. The Institute represents a new paradigm, in which an academic institution harnesses a global therapeutic alliance to deliver better therapies. The model that the Milner Therapeutics Institute has developed will be shared with the audience to catalyse discussion on academic/industry collaboration and exchange know-how on what works well and lessons learned. For more information please visit our website (www.milner.cam.ac.uk). Speakers will be Kathryn Chapman, Executive Manager at the Milner Therapeutics Institute and Yoshiro Shiba, Global Innovation Assistant at Shionogi Limited.
